1. Information We Collect
If you purchase wash codes through our online store, we collect the email address and name you provide at checkout, along with payment card details processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full card number, only the card brand and last four digits shown on your receipt. We also keep basic transaction details: wash type, package, amount, order reference, timestamp, and a record of your acceptance of our terms.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your email address to deliver your wash codes and send transactional communications related to your purchase. We also use your order information to prevent fraud, process refunds and payment disputes, meet our tax and legal obligations, and, as described in section 5, understand how our website is used. We do not use your information for marketing without your consent, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Payment Processing and Service Providers
We use Stripe, Inc. to process payments and run our checkout. Stripe receives the name, email address, and payment card details you enter at checkout, and may also process device and transaction information to detect fraud. Your full card number goes directly to Stripe and is never stored on our servers. Stripe's privacy practices are described in the Stripe Privacy Policy.
We also use service providers to host this website and its database, deliver the emails that carry your wash codes and, as described below, understand how our website is used. These providers may handle your personal information only on our behalf and only for those purposes. Some of them process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country and accessible to its courts, law enforcement, or other authorities.
4. Data Retention
We retain order records, including your email address and transaction details, for as long as needed for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, and legal purposes. Wash codes are kept with their order records for the same period so that we can resend a code, process a refund, or respond to a payment dispute.
5. Cookies and Analytics
We use PostHog, a product analytics service, to understand how visitors use this website and to find errors. It records the pages you view, your clicks, basic browser and device information, your approximate location (city and country, worked out from your IP address, which is not stored), and error reports. Checkout and order identifiers and email addresses are removed from page addresses before they are recorded.
PostHog also records a replay of your visit, such as scrolling, clicks, and moving between pages. Anything you type into a form, and your car wash codes, are hidden from these recordings. PostHog stores a random identifier in a cookie and in local storage to recognise repeat visits from this browser. If you start a purchase, that identifier is linked to your order reference. We do not send your name, email address, or payment details to PostHog.
Analytics data goes through our own domain to PostHog's servers in the United States. Events are kept for one year and recordings for 30 days.
When you open the checkout, Stripe sets its own cookies to detect fraud and keep your payment working. They are needed to take payment and are not affected by the analytics opt-out below. Your opt-out choice is saved in this browser only, so repeat it on other browsers or devices or after clearing site data. If the button does not appear, analytics is not running.
6. How We Protect Your Information
Information is encrypted in transit between your browser, our website, and our service providers. Order records are held in a database that only authorised staff can reach through a sign-in protected administration area. Payment card numbers never pass through or sit on our systems.
7. Your Rights
Under applicable Canadian privacy law, you may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or ask questions or raise a concern about our privacy practices.
